FAQs
WHAT IS THE TEMPERATURE RANGE FOR GORILLA TAPE?
Gorilla Tape should be applied at room temperature. Once applied, Gorilla Tape will hold strong between 0°C to 65.5°C.
CAN GORILLA TAPE BE USED INSTEAD OF ELECTRICAL TAPE?
Gorilla Tape should NOT be used as an electrical tape.
WILL GORILLA TAPE WORK ON PLASTIC/RUBBER?
Gorilla Tape contains a highly concentrated rubber based adhesive and sticks to most plastics, including polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). Gorilla Tape does not work on materials with high oil or plasticizer content, such as EPDM rubber or PVC. An acrylic tape, such as Crystal Clear Gorilla Tape, may be better suited for these materials. If you would like more information on how Gorilla Tape bonds to specific substrates, please contact our technical team via the ‘Contact Us’ section on the website for assistance.
HOW CAN I ENSURE THE STRONGEST BOND WITH GORILLA TAPE?
Before applying Gorilla Tape, make sure your surface is clean, dry and free of any dust or debris, Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) may be used according to manufacturer’s instructions. If there are loose particles (dirt or dust on the surface) the tape’s adhesive will adhere to these particles instead of the actual surface. When the surface is clean and dry, apply the tape taking the time to rub the tape firmly to your surface to help achieve a better bond.
Gorilla Tape works best when applied at room temperature, it will then hold strong between 0°C to 65.5°C.
Try using the tape vertically or in cross sections instead of the same direction as your project’s grain.
Certain materials, including many types of rubber, can be difficult to bond due to the oil or resin content. If you would like more information on how Gorilla Tape bonds to specific substrates, please contact our technical team via the ‘Contact Us’ section on the website for assistance.
IS GORILLA TAPE FOOD SAFE?
Gorilla Tape is not recommended for direct or indirect food contact and should not be considered food safe.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I THINK A HUMAN OR ANIMAL HAS INGESTED GORILLA TAPE?
For medical emergencies, seek medical assistance immediately. Call 999/112 for emergency services. For animal emergencies, contact a vet or animal specialist immediately.
