• Roof cleaner or mild detergent: Clean the surface thoroughly before you apply any waterproof sealant.
• Protective gloves & safety glasses: Protect your skin and eyes.
• Plastic scraper: Remove dirt and old waterproof sealant.
• Paint roller or brush (Coat & Seal Liquid): Apply the coating evenly.
• Utility knife or scissors: Cut your sealing tape to the right size.
• Ladder: Reach the roof safely.
• Dry cloths or towels: To achieve optimal adhesion, wipe the roof completely dry before sealing.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Pick the Right Roof Waterproofing Solution

Select a product suitable for RV roofs. Liquid rubber is effective for repairing small cracks in your RV roof because it’s both flexible and durable. 

Gorilla’s waterproofing range is designed to adhere and seal to various materials, including wood or metal. If you’re using another product, check the product instructions to make sure it’s compatible before you begin.

2. Fix Any Loose Fixtures

Check your trims, joints, and other fixtures. If any parts have come loose, apply Gorilla Heavy Duty Grab Adhesive underneath them and press them back into place. This gap-filling adhesive creates a strong, watertight hold. Let the adhesive cure completely before moving to the next step.

3. Clean and Prep the Surface

1. Use a scraper to remove old sealant and grime.
2. Wash the surface with warm, soapy water to clear out dirt and debris. Then dry the roof completely with a cloth or towel.
3. Apply masking tape around vents, edges, and any sections you want to keep clear.

4. Apply the Rubber Sealant

1. Open your tin of Gorilla Waterproof Coat & Seal and stir the liquid gently for 30 seconds until it's thoroughly mixed.
2. Use a brush or roller to spread the product evenly across the crack. Apply the first coat carefully, making sure you cover seams, corners, and areas around trims. Do not use for gaps larger than 6mm.
3. Allow the first coat to dry completely before applying the second. Gorilla Coat & Seal Liquid requires 24-48 hours to achieve a full cure.
4. Apply multiple coats if required, depending on the level of protection you want.
5. After the final coat dries, inspect the roof closely to confirm you’ve covered every area.

Pro Tip: For cracks, holes or seams larger than 6mm, cut the Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Tape to size, peel off the backing, and press the tape firmly over the damage.
